Laser Cutting

3DLasertec uses state-of-the-art pulsed fiber laser cutting technology to cut complex parts with the greatest degree of accuracy possible. We specialize in high-precision laser micromachining of tubes, sheets, foils, and other products.

Laser Welding

We offer advanced laser welding capabilities. Utilizing machinery that allows for highly accurate parameter selection, we can handle even the most challenging designs. With a minimal spot weld (100 microns), 3DLasertec can perform the most delicate welding tasks.

3DLasertec boasts a unique, state-of-the-art, automated 4-axis, laser-welding system. This system allows for a smooth transition from development to manufacturing without the common pitfalls encountered by start-ups.

Heat Treatment

3DLasertec uses fluidized-bed alumina furnaces to ensure uniform heat transfer for a specific part. The furnace can maintain temperatures within 5 degrees, with minimal hysteresis. Our experience helps us tailor the correct heat treatment regime to ensure optimal part behavior.

Surface Treatment

We provide a range of surface treatment options, including media blasting, surface passivation, and electropolish. Each project has a solution that is tailored to customer requirements.

Quality Inspections

3DLasertec offers the latest in optical measurements to undertake parts inspection services according to client specifications. A full written report, including a critical dimension analysis, accompanies each part.

Material & Part Testing

3DLasertec offers extensive material testing capabilities, including part-corrosion testing, dog-bone tensile characterization, radial and crush force testing, and austenitic temperature (Af) determination. We help our clients gain a better understanding of the part(s) to facilitate the development and regulatory processes.

By performing tests in house, we maintain control over the development and production process, and shorten production time.

Corrosion testing (cyclic potentiodynamic polarization testing, CPPT) is used to quantify the corrosion resistance of nitinol components. From these tests, we can identify resting potential (Er), breakdown potential (Eb) and protection potential (Ep). Our CPPT complies with ASTM F2129.

From tensile testing we gain knowledge about key characteristics such as the ultimate tensile strength (UTS), elongation to failure and superelastic (pseudoelastic) upper and lower plateau stresses ( UPS and LPS). Our tensile testing is compliant with ASTM F2516.

Bend and Free Recovery testing (BFR) is a non-destructive test which identifies the Active Af temperature of a nitinol component, an essential performance parameter. All our BFR tests comply with ASTM F2082.

Radial testing measures the radial force exerted by a self-expanding part as a function of its radius

Crush force testing determines the force required to radially deform a plastically deformable part
